The current 9th grade teams are working hard on their planning for the Personal Project. At this point all of them have been signed up for the Google Classroom and have access to the weekly assignments. Each week a new assignment is posted, so ask your child what they are working on this week. So far in these assignments, students have brainstormed possible topics and Global Context connections.
We have been following the progress of the group, and there are team members at various stages of the product. Some students have already decided on their topic and have started working on what their product or outcome is going to look like. Others are still trying to determine out what they focus on. No matter where they are currently, we are confident that they will be able to succeed in this endeavor.
The Personal Project team is going to be holding a personal project think tank event after school toward the end of May, beginning of June. This will ben an opportunity for team members to gather and work on their projects with staff and other students. There will also be opportunities for them to work with the Personal Project team over the summer as well; these dates will be decided in the next weeks and sent out to students.
The newest thing that will be happening next week is the addition of student mentors to work with the supervisors. These are students who have completed the Personal Project and will be able to help the current students with their knowledge of the process.
We are excited about the project and seeing all of the wonderful things that are going to be created. We are also committed to helping everyone succeed.
